Sustainable Education Reform

SIIP and WIDER

The Strategic Instructional Initiatives Program and a complementary National Science Foundation Widening Implementation & Demonstration of Evidence-Based Reforms (WIDER) grant are creating a new platform at Illinois to create sustainable education reform.

Rather than making the adoption of education reforms the end goal of our efforts, these two projects emphasize creating communities of practice supplemented with just-in-time faculty training and evaluation with the expectation that sustainable education reform will be the natural outcome of the effort.

Engineering Micro-lectures


The engineering microlectures project is part of an effort to make it easier for faculty to adopt new teaching methods while also developing an exercise in applying best-practices in multi-media learning.
